Oakland Mall wants to put cash in your school's pocket.
"Will Your School Rule?" is an incentive program designed to benefit local schools
through cash awards. Students, families, friends, and educators are all encouraged to shop
Oakland Mall and earn points for their favorite participating school. Schools will receive
one point for every dollar spent at Oakland Mall. Additional bonus points can be earned by
promoting the program at your school. The school with the highest point total at the end of
the program wins the grand prize, cash!
1st Place - $5,000
2nd Place - $2,500
3rd Place - $1,250
4th-6th Places - $600
It's easy. Shoppers simply make a purchase at any store or restaurant at Oakland Mall
and take their receipts to the Customer Service Center located on the lower level of the
shopping center near JCPenney. Schools will receive one point for each dollar spent. A
Customer Service Representative will record the purchase amount and points, stamp the
receipt, and return the receipt to the shopper before they leave. Purchases must be made
during the program dates of November 15, 2009, through April 30, 2010.
How Schools Can Participate:
Up to 15 elementary schools can participate in "Will Your School Rule?"
All applications must be received by April 30, 2010. A random drawing will be held May, 2010. to choose which schools will participate in the program. Chosen schools will be notified by e-mail. If your school is chosen as a participating school, your school will be featured on the Oakland Mall website and mall signage as a participating school, and flyers will be given to your school for distribution to students, faculty and PTA members.Participating schools must assign a coordinator to serve as liaison between Oakland
Mall and your school. Your coordinator may be a parent, staff member or volunteer.
Based on total accumulated points earned between November 15, 2009, and
April 30, 2010, each school will be awarded cash prizes in May 2010.

Official Rules:
Customers can only use Oakland Mall store or restaurant receipts towardWill Your School Rule.
Receipts must be recorded within 60 days of purchase.
Receipts must be dated from November 15, 2009, April 30, 2010.
Receipt total, including tax, is eligible for credit.
Store gift certificate & gift card purchasesare not eligible for credit.
Soliciting/collecting of receipts on mall property is prohibited.
Participating schools are credited one (1) point for every dollar of valid store receipts unless otherwise specified by Oakland Mall
Anyone who intentionally abuses the program will have their school terminated from the program and the school will not be eligible to receive a cash prize.
Schools will be eligible to receive 1,000 bonus points per month for their promotional efforts made to advertise the program. For example, placing the "Will Your School Rule" logo in a newsletter, signage about the event, etc. Schools will need to provide proper documentation such as, photographs or samples of their efforts. Schools will be allowed to earn a maximum of 1,000 bonus points monthly
Payments made to stores credit cards are not redemable for points.
